We all want our dishwashers to last. We all want them to work! Here are a few tips to make sure yours does both.Remember washing dishes by hand uses 15% of the water that the dishwasher uses.
First, double check and make sure that the hand dish washing detergent is not anywhere in the area of the dishwasher detergent.
Even a small amount can cause the “I Love Lucy” issues with soap bubbles coming out the dishwasher door!
Depending on the brand of dishwasher some use a different detergent. The majority of dishwasher’s use liquid (which is best) remember to shake, shake, shake!
All ingredients settle so before you use it be sure to shake the container of soap. You don’t need anything in the pre-wash (if you have that area).
Also, you only need enough in the main wash area to cover the bottom “do not fill”.
The little (pillows/gel packs) are generally too much soap. Of course the soap container says to fill both areas (they are in the business to sell soap the more the better for them).
Dishes Still Wet, use one of the heat settings, this will activate the rinse agent. So the question “Is a drying agent necessary”
Yes, a rinse agent is necessary it is not a gimmick or just a selling tool. It does help.
“Jet Dry” is the better one out there as there are differences in them.
Also, run the water at the faucet and get as hot as possible make sure the garbage disposal is cleaned out, before you start the dishwasher.
Additionally you can use a dishwasher cleaner to keep the inside clean of any soap build-up/residue. We recommend using “Dishwasher Magic “every 6 months.
